This very charming two-bedroom, two-bath Guest house is located on one of the most scenic by-ways in the State of Colorado and is quaint from head to toe! The Hummingbirds are incredible. They migrate here from South America to breed in the summer. The wildlife is abundant. There are deer, elk, foxes, etc. The views are amazing and all the other gifts shared with us by Mother Nature are breathtaking. This property was used as a very successful Bed and Breakfast from 1994 to 2003.
The space
The guest house is separate from the main house and consists of a bedroom and bath with a shower on the main floor with a private entrance and small sitting deck. It has a queen bed. There is also a combination washer/dryer in the bathroom. On the main floor, there is a living room, a kitchen area with a microwave, stove, and refrigerator, and a second bathroom with a tub and shower. The second bedroom is upstairs and has two queen beds, with enough space for a folding bed, if required. This guest house can sleep up to eight people but is better suited for six adults or a family with children. Please note, no amenities specifically for children such as a crib or playpen are provided. The cabin may not be childproof to everyone's standard, so please keep an eye on your adventurous little ones. The cabin is totally stocked with amenities (pots and pans, toaster, coffee pot, blender, bedding, towels, etc.) You are renting only the guest house and not the main house. The owners live onsite in the main house, with two large, friendly dogs. Expect to be greeted by barking, it helps keep the wildlife away.
Guest access
You're in the middle of nowhere, Colorado. At the same time, you're within an hour of Aspen, 40 minutes from Glenwood Springs hot springs, and under 30 minutes from Carbondale's theater and shopping. 10 minutes away from Redstone, and down the street from 2 hot springs, Avalanche Ranch and Penny hot springs, which is free.
Any outdoor activity you're looking for, we can help you find! ATV/snowmobile rentals are available directly from us, horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, or just barbequing and relaxing!
You're welcome to explore the surrounding Countryside, wonderful Mountain vistas, and Crystal river flowing a couple of hundred feet away.
Other things to note
Please be aware this is a cabin in the woods, a really nice and well-appointed one, but still a cabin in the woods. There isn't any cell phone reception here, or cable TV, no Netflix, no Dish, just a remote for the DVD player and lots of movies. There are no landlines in the cabin. If you need to make a call, we suggest WiFi calling on your smartphone. If you need any help getting it to work, just come ask. We'll be glad to assist you.
Additionally, we have plenty of board games and movies, so you can stay entertained no matter the weather.
