The designer-selected finishes include wide-plank white oak floors, cedar vaulted ceilings, amazing stonework, Corten and rolled steel accents. There are soaring windows that frame a truly amazing mountain view. There are two large, covered decks, one off the great room and one off the dining room. The upper deck includes ceiling heaters, dining and lounge areas and a 7 person hot tub. The lower deck has a ping pong table and mats for stretching or yoga.
The great room features 21' high cedar ceilings, a stunning floor to ceiling stone and rolled metal, two sided gas fireplace with live edge mantel and a modern but comfortable large seating area with grand sliding doors to the deck. There is a wine bar that also offers a nice selection of top brand liquors for your cocktail hour. The library is on the other side of the fireplace and is a cozy space with two truly comfortable but modern swivel chairs, floating built-in book shelves and a large built-in desk that has the most wonderfully framed view.
The modern dining table has seating for 8 to10 and the large porcelain slab island has seating for 6. The appliances are all KitchenAide, including a built-in refrigerator and a Bosche dishwasher. The gourmet kitchen features gray stained and walnut shaker cabinets and a wonderful and unique backsplash tile, highlighted by live edge wood shelves. There are platters, cookware, spices, oils and everything you need to create wonderful meals. There is also coffee and tea bar featuring the latest equipment and a large selection of coffee and teas.
The master bedroom has a king bed, a barnwood bed wall with tufted headboard, walk -in closet with barnwood clad door and huge master bath. The bath features an oversized shower with linen textured glass tiles, separate vanities, and a separate toilet room. The master bath has direct access to the hot tub for your convenience. and heated floors!!
There are 4 additional bedrooms, all with direct access to the deck and featuring amazing views. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds and the bunk room has two full/twin bunk beds.
The bonus room features a beautiful modern pool table, a wet bar, lounging area with big screen TV, all creating a wonderful hang out space. The upstairs loft includes a game table, shuffle board table, day bed and game closet for a unique, family friendly time.
For your little one, there is a fold-up playpen / crib and a high chair.
The house has Air Conditioning and a Generator so no matter what the mountain climate does, the house will be truly comfortable and so will you and your guests.
There is an amazing backyard space that features a gas firepit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, a picnic table for dining, horse shoe pit and a sun deck that actually has three solid rock lounge chairs with lovely cushions, umbrellas and tree stump tables!!
There is so much to keep you entertained at the house but if you venture out, you can walk/snowshoe into downtown Truckee!! We even provide some snowshoes!! There are many sleds at the house for your use and a great sledding hill out the back of the house. As for skiing, we are 15-20 minutes to Squaw, Alpine, NorthStar and Sugarbowl. Also we are near the small but great downhill ski resort at Tahoe Donner. Tahoe Donner also has an amazing cross country ski resort.
Downtown Truckee, for those not familiar, is a wonderful, historic downtown that has many fine and casual restaurants, shopping , wine tasting, crafts and just a fun place to stroll around. The Truckee area has tons of hiking and biking trails, many of which you can access right out of our house. We even have some bikes for your use.
The home is a 5-10 minute drive to Donner Lake where you can rent boat and paddle board or enjoy the free public piers. There are many swimming and fishing holes along the Truckee River about 10 minutes from the house. Another 10 minutes up river, near Tahoe City, rafts can be rented to float down the river in the summer.
So whether you want to just chill in the mountains in a truly luxurious but comfortable space or have some new adventures, this modern estate home really has it all!!
